Substitute Teachers Caucus

The Substitute Teachers Caucus advocates within the NEA for organizing substitutes, for improving working conditions, for increasing respect and communication, and for promoting quality public education. We speak up for the substitute members who are represented in local associations in at least fourteen states and for the inclusion of contract language supporting regular classroom teachers by preventing the misuse of substitute teachers. Camden City Interim Teachers Organization - A department of CWA Local 1034 New Jersey

 

Camden city is the first school district in the state of New Jersey to have unionized substitute teachers with a contract.

 

Seattle Substitutes Association - A department of the Seattle Education Association

 

The Oregon Substitute Teachers Association is a professional organization of oregon substitute teachers that works hard to raise the image and professionalism of substitute teachers and to gain economic benefits. It's the only organization working primarily for substitute teachers.
